Call for Papers
52nd Annual Economic and Business History Society Conference
June 9–11, 2027
Stockholm School of Economics
Stockholm, Sweden

The Economic and Business History Society is pleased to announce its 52nd annual conference, to be held at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) in Stockholm, Sweden, June 9-11, 2027. The conference committee welcomes proposals on any aspect of economic and business history, broadly construed.

Early June is one of the very best times to visit Stockholm. With long days, short nights, and the city approaching midsummer, Stockholm is at its most vibrant. The conference offers an opportunity to combine stimulating scholarly exchange with everything the Swedish capital has to offer at this particularly attractive time of year, including cultural attractions, restaurants, outdoor life, and sporting events.

The conference will be hosted by the Stockholm School of Economics, located in the heart of central Stockholm. SSE is within easy reach of Stockholm’s main railway station and the express train to Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Metro and bus connections are close at hand, and a wide range of restaurants, cafés, museums, sporting events, and other cultural attractions are within walking distance or a short public-transport ride.

There will be no designated conference hotel. Instead, participants can choose from a wide range of accommodation within walking distance of SSE, including both major international and Scandinavian hotel chains and independent hotels across different price categories. Further information and accommodation suggestions will be provided to participants.

The 2027 EBHS conference is being organized in conjunction with Baltic Connections, held in Helsinki, Finland. Helsinki is just an overnight ferry journey from Stockholm, making it easy to attend both conferences. For participants traveling between the two cities, we particularly recommend the overnight ferry across the Baltic Sea—an enjoyable way to travel between Stockholm and Helsinki.

Please submit your paper or panel proposal by January 31, 2027. Submissions should include:

  • The title of the presentation
  • An abstract of no more than 500 words
  • 3–5 keywords
  • Contact details for each presenter

Proposals should be submitted through our website at www.ebhsoc.org/conference.
